(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Police lay multiple charges after a traffic stop for a suspected impaired driver in the Town of Tillsonburg.
On June 21, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting enforcement patrols when they initiated a traffic stop on Concession Street for a suspected impaired driver.
As a result, Melissa FOBERT, a 42-year-old from Brampton, has been charged with the following Highway Traffic Act & Criminal Code offences:
· Operation While Impaired
· Obstruct Peace Officer
· Failure to Comply with Undertaking
· Carrying a Concealed Weapon
· Possession of an Imitation Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
· Possession of an Identity Document (three counts)
· Drive While Under Suspension (two counts)
The accused has been remanded into custody.
The OPP remind motorists that no amount of alcohol or drug is acceptable to consume and drive.
