Lucas TRAVERSEY – Drunk Driving

(LAURENTIAN VALLEY TWP, ON) – A Bonnechere Valley Township resident is facing Criminal Code (CC), Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA), and Cannabis Control Act (CCA) charges after a member of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle.

In the morning of February 19, 2026, police stopped the vehicle on Hamilton Street in Laurentian Valley Township. As part of the investigation, a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result of this investigation 38-year-old Lucas TRAVERSEY has been charged with the following CC, CAIA and CCA offences:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 17, 2026.
