(HARLEY TOWNSHIP) – A driver is facing impaired driving charges after police responded to a vehicle in the ditch.
On November 28, 2025, at approximately 2:10 a.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single-motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 near Development Road in Harley Township.
Upon arrival, officer located the vehicle and driver in the ditch. During the interaction, officers detected an odour of alcoholic beverage. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Temiskaming OPP Detachment for further testing.
The accused, Liam MCCUE, 24 years old, of Notre-Dame-du-Nord, Quebec, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days under the Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) program.
The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear before the Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on January 13, 2026.
