Lia CARRIERE – Theft, Meth A Factor

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following an investigation into a shoplifting incident in Simcoe.

At approximately 5:28 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a reported theft on Queensway East in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that an individual entered a business, concealed merchandise, and left without paying.

Officers located the individual on the premises and took them into custody without incident. A subsequent search resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and unmarked cigarettes.

55-year-old Lia CARRIERE from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

• Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting,
• Traffick in Schedule I substance – methamphetamines (crystal meth),
• Possess unmarked cigarettes.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
