Kenrick CLARKE Facing Numerous Charges

(BROCKVILLE, ON) – A vehicle, travelling at high speeds, led Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to the recovery of a stolen vehicle and multiple charges against a driver.

A member of the Leeds County OPP was conducting traffic enforcement on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 on Thursday, January 29, 2026, shortly before 9:30 a.m., when they observed a vehicle travelling well over the posted speed limit. The officer followed and observed the vehicle being driven aggressively in traffic.

Due to public safety concerns, the officer did not attempt a traffic stop, but continued to follow the vehicle, while requesting assistance from additional officers. The vehicle left the highway at the Stewart Boulevard exit in Brockville.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop. Again, for safety reasons, officers did not engage in a pursuit.

The driver continued through Brockville, eventually colliding with two parked vehicles and fountain on Courthouse Boulevard before fleeing on foot.

OPP and Brockville Police officers converged on the area and the individual was located and arrested without further incident. It was also determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier that day in London.

Kenrick CLARKE, age 41 of Oshawa has been charged with:

  • Theft of a vehicle
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Trafficking in property obtained by crime
  • Possession of a device for the purpose of committing theft
  • Dangerous operation of a vehicle
  • Flight from a peace officer
  • Failure to stop after an accident – two counts
  • Mischief over $5000

The accused was held in custody and was scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on Friday, January 30, 2026.
