Joshua PETERS Was Arrested Again #3Strikes

(MORAVIANTOWN FIRST NATIONS, ON) – One person is charged with multiple offences after a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act violation.

On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at approximately 3:13 p.m., Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Selton Line on Moraviantown Delaware First Nation and seized approximately $16,000 worth of suspected cocaine, hydromorphone, and a considerable sum of Canadian currency.

As a result of the investigation, Joshua PETERS, a 46-year-old from Chatham Kent was charged with:

·      Possession for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act)

·      Possession for the purpose of Trafficking- Opioid (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) (two counts)

·      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 (Criminal Code)

·      Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (Criminal Code)

·      Operation While Prohibited (Criminal Code)

·      Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling (Cannabis Act)

·      Permit use of plate not authorized for vehicle (Highway Traffic Act)

·      Driving while under suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

A 45-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The Middlesex-Elgin Community Street Crime Unit assisted the Elgin OPP.

The accused was held for bail and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Chatham on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
