(CARLETON PLACE, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Lanark Highlands Township resident with impaired driving.
Officers were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check for possible impaired drivers on Sunday, October 12, 2025, just after 11:30 p.m. in the Town of Carleton Place.
The officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on a driver. The male was arrested and transported to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.
As a result of the investigation, John CHARBONNEAU, 35-years-old, has been charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, November 17, 2025.
The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
