(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals have been charged following separate impaired driving incidents.
On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at approximately 10:44 p.m., members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint involving a suspected impaired driver on Middleton-North Walsingham Townline Road, just outside of Langton.
Officers located the vehicle at the scene and, following a roadside sobriety test, took the driver into custody without incident.
As a result, 32-year-old John CHAMBERS of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
- Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero,
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
On Friday, February 6, 2026, at approximately 1:43 a.m., a member of the Norfolk County OPP observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 3 in Delhi.
The vehicle was stopped, and following a roadside sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody without incident.
As a result, 35-year-old Curtis LLOYD of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
- Speeding – 1-49 km/h over posted speed limit,
- Driver fail to surrender licence,
- Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
