(WALPOLE ISLAND FIRST NATION, ON) – One individual was arrested following a break and enter on Walpole Island First Nation.
On February 21, 2025, at approximately 11:58 a.m., members of the Walpole Island Police Service, along with members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a weapons call at a residence on Tecumseh Road, Walpole Island First Nation.
Investigation revealed an individual entered a home, brandished a firearm, and then left the residence.
Officers attended the area, located the individual, and safely took them into custody without incident. The involved firearm was seized.
No injuries were reported.
As a result of the investigation, David ISAAC, 38-year-old of Walpole Island First Nation was arrested and charge under the Criminal Code with the following offences:
- Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Failure to comply with prohibition order (two counts)
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Assault with a weapon
- Firearm – Use while committing offence
- Imitation firearm – Use while committing offence
The accused was held pending a bail hearing and was subsequently remanded into custody. The individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Sarnia on February 25, 2025.
