Fatal Sea-Doo Incident

(MARMORA AND LAKE, ON) – One person is deceased after a collision on Crowe River.

On July 20, 2024, just before 3:00 p.m., Central Hastings OPP, Marmora and Lake Fire Department and Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services responded to a collision involving two personal watercraft (Sea-Doos) on Crowe River, near Crowe Lake, Marmora and Lake.

The initial investigation indicates that a Sea-Doo with two occupants struck the rear of another Sea-Doo that also had two occupants. As a result of the collision, the operator of the Sea-Doo in front was transported to the hospital by ambulance with serious injuries and despite life-saving efforts, the 40-year-old male passenger from Quinte West was pronounced deceased.

The four occupants were wearing life jackets at the time of the collision.

The collision remains under investigation.
