(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals have been charged in connection with separate impaired driving investigations.
On Monday, January 5, 2026, at approximately 7:41 a.m., members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a suspected impaired driver near the intersection of Kent Street North and Young Street in Simcoe.
Officers located the vehicle at the intersection and, following an interaction with the driver, took the individual into custody without incident.
As a result, 38-year-old Emily GASTON of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offence:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
In a separate incident, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at approximately 7:22 p.m., a Norfolk County OPP officer was patrolling Hillcrest Road in Simcoe when a speeding vehicle was observed.
Following a traffic stop and the administration of a roadside sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody without incident.
As a result, 30-year-old Nicholas CURRAH of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offences:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
- Speeding 1 – 49 km/h over posted limit,
- Possess more than one licence,
- Fail to have insurance card.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
