(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Traffic stop leads to multiple charges for driver.
On December 14, 2025, at 12:35 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol on Hamilton Road in the Municipality of Thames Centre, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.
The driver was placed under arrest.
As a result, Dawit SIMON, a 24-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Cannabis Control Act with:
· Operation While Prohibited – Legal Restriction from any other Act of Parliament or Provincial Law
· Obstruct Peace Officer
· Failure to comply with undertaking
· Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
· Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
· Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
The accused was held for bail.
