Danny LANDRY Was Arrested

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Chatham Detachment, has charged an individual following a single-vehicle collision investigation.

On July 3, 2024, at approximately 6:40 p.m., members the Elgin OPP, Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue and Chatham-Kent Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a single-vehicle rollover collision on the eastbound Highway 401 east of Victoria Road, Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

The lone driver declined to be assessed on-scene by EMS and no serious injuries were reported.

The investigating officer observed signs of impairment from the driver, who was taken into custody without incident and transported to Essex OPP Detachment where a Drug Recognition Evaluation (DRE) was administered.

As a result of the investigation, Danny LANDRY, a 52-year-old from Sarnia was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration
  • Careless driving

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham on August 5, 2024.
