Chris SOUTH & Chadwick BUTTON – Drunk Driving

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals are facing charges following separate impaired driving investigations.

On Monday, March 30, 2026, at approximately 8:19 a.m., members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a pedestrian on Church Street East in Delhi.

The investigation determined that the SUV was travelling on Church Street East when it left the roadway and struck a pedestrian. The vehicle did not remain at the scene. The pedestrian did not report any injuries.

Officers later located the SUV on Windham Road 12, just outside of Delhi. Following an interaction with the driver, the individual was taken into custody without incident.

As a result, 39-year-old Chris SOUTH of Mississauga, Ontario, has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Failure to stop after accident,
  • Dangerous operation,
  • Drive – handheld communication device.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

Later that same day, at approximately 6:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision after a sedan entered a ditch near the intersection of Lakeshore Road and Gore Road in Port Rowan. No injuries were reported.

Officers located the driver a short distance from the scene. Following a roadside sobriety test, the individual was taken into custody without incident.

As a result, 51-year-old Chadwick BUTTON of Hamilton, Ontario, has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code,
  • Failure to comply with Undertaking,
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order,
  • Failure to comply with Release Order – other than to attend court.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
