(ALBERTON, ON) – Members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), have arrested multiple individuals following a month-long investigation of a break and enter resulting in weapons trafficking charges.
On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Rainy River District OPP responded to a report of a break and enter at a property in Alberton Township. Through investigation, officers identified multiple suspects involved in the incident.
As a result of the investigation, police recovered multiple firearms and several individuals have been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada.
Jason ELLMAN, age 42 of Fort Frances, has been charged with:
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Break & Enter a place and steal a firearm
- Possession for the purpose of weapons trafficking
The accused was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on Friday, December 19, 2025.
Peter FOY, age 50 of Fort Frances, has been charged with:
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on Monday, January 22, 2026.
Braydon HARP, age 26 of Fort Frances, has been charged with:
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Break & Enter with intent to steal a firearm
- Possession for the Purpose of Weapons Trafficking
- Failure to comply with release order- other than to attend court
The accused was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
Mitchell JONES-FOY, age 29 of Fort Frances, has been charged with:
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Failure to comply with release order- other than to attend court
The accused was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on Friday, December 19, 2025.
Dylan PATTISON, age 32 of Fort Frances, has been charged with:
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Break & Enter with intent to steal a firearm
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000- in Canada
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession for the Purpose of Weapons Trafficking
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
Gage YARMOVICH, age 24 of Fort Frances, has been charged with:
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession for the Purpose of Weapons Trafficking
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
The investigation was completed with the assistance of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit, Intelligence & Information Management Unit, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Canine Unit and Treaty Three Police.
