Andrew MAC INNIS & Kevin GEEN – Impaired Driving

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two motorists with impaired operation following separate incidents.

On December 5, 2025, at approximately 1:15 p.m., officers stopped a pickup truck on Front Street in the Municipality of Trent Hills for a traffic offence. After speaking with the driver, police initiated an impaired operation investigation. The individual was taken into custody and transported to a detachment for further testing.

Kevin GEEN (47) from the Municipality of Trent Hills, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On December 7, 2025, shortly after 7:00 a.m., OPP received multiple reports of a vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 401 in the Municipality of Port Hope with only three tires and having struck a barrier. Officers located the vehicle stopped on the shoulder and arrested the driver for impaired operation. The individual was transported to a detachment for further tests.

As a result, Andrew MAC INNIS (36) from Caledon, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

–      Dangerous operation

–      Improper tires

Both accused are due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in January 2026.

For each impaired driving charge, a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and 7-day vehicle impoundment were imposed as per statute.

If you know or suspect that a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs, call 9-1-1. In doing so, you may save a life. Whether you are impaired by alcohol or drugs, impaired is impaired and driving under the influence of either is a criminal offence. If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.
