Andrew CORNELIUS: Impaired Driving

(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – Traffic complaint leads to impaired charge.

On February 13, 2025, at 1:39 p.m., members of the Oneida Nation Police and Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to Elijah Road in Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, for the report of a possible impaired driver.

The vehicle was located at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver of the vehicle fled on foot, however, was quickly located and placed under arrest by police.

As a result, Andrew CORNELIUS, a 36-year-old of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – drugs

·      Flight from peace officer

·      Dangerous operation

The accused was held for bail.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.
