(KINCARDINE, ON) – On March 13, 2025, at approximately 11:22 a.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol along Highway 21 in the Municipality of Kincardine. The Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) equipment in the cruiser alerted the officer to a licence plate that had previously been reported as stolen.
The investigating officer initiated a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle and spoke to the driver, discovering additional offences.
As a result of the investigation, Brian LLOYD, 58-years-old from the Municipality of Kincardine, has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of property obtained by crime, CC 354(1)(a)
- Operation while prohibited, CC 320.18(1)(a)
- Driving while under suspension, HTA 53(1) – two counts
- Use plate not authorized for vehicle, HTA 12(1)(d)
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, CAIA 2(1)(a)
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on April 30, 2025.
