(MUNICIPALITY OF PORT HOPE, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following a collision investigation.
On July 7, 2025, OPP along with Northumberland EMS and the Port Hope Fire and Emergency services responded to a serious collision involving two passenger vehicles on County Road 28 near Bewdley.
Both drivers and four passengers were transported to various trauma centers with the assistance from Ornge air ambulance services.
County Road 28 was closed for several hours as members trained in collision reconstruction assisted with the investigation.
On September 22, 2025, officers arrested one of the drivers involved in the collision.
As a result, Amanpreet SINGH (22) from Peterborough, has been charged with:
– Dangerous operation causing bodily harm – five counts
– Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt
The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in November.
