2 More Impaired Drivers Arrested – Names Released

(PEMBROKE, ON) – Two drivers are facing Criminal Code (CC) impaired driving charges after members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recently investigated two separate incidents.

On February 22, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Pembroke Street West in the City of Pembroke. As part of the investigation a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was conducted. Further testing was conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer at the detachment. 

As a result of this incident 28-year-old Sarah PROKSCH of Pembroke is charged with the following CC and Highway Traffic Act (HTA) offences:

•             Operation while impaired – drugs

•             Driving while under suspension

The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 18, 2025.

On February 23, 2025, at approximately 1:10 a.m., police were called to a single vehicle collision on Saars Lane in Laurentian Valley Township. Investigation found the vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch; no injuries were reported. As part of the investigation a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was conducted, and further testing was conducted at the detachment.    

As a result of this incident 37-year-old Chandell REYNOLDS of Oshawa, Ontario is charged with the following CC and HTA offences:

·        Operation while impaired – drugs and alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus

·        Possess more than one licence

The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 25, 2025.

Both accused individuals had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days.
