(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On June 28, 2025, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.
Investigation determined that a dispute between intimate partners led to an assault, where a handgun was brandished. The accused was taken into custody after a brief struggle with police. The handgun was seized and determined to be an imitation.
As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old individual from Arran-Elderslie has been charged with:
- Assault, CC 266
- Uttering threats to cause death, CC 264.1(1)(a) – three counts
- Fail to comply with release order, CC 145(5)(a) – two counts
- Assault with intent to resist arrest, CC 270(1)(b)
- Pointing a firearm, CC 87
- Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose, CC 88
The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
