$13,500 Drug Bust – RENTON & LOUBIER

(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) – Two local residents are facing drug trafficking charges after a search warrant was executed in Sioux Lookout.

An investigation into drug trafficking in Sioux Lookout was commenced by the Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with assistance from Dryden OPP CSCU, Red Lake OPP CSCU, OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Northwest Region Canine Unit and Sioux Lookout OPP.

On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, a search warrant was executed on a residence on Drayton Road. Officers seized multiple firearms, prohibited weapons, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $13,500.

As a result of the investigation, Tony RENTON, 62 years old of Sioux Lookout, was charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)offences:

• Unauthorized possession of a weapon
• Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
• Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
• Careless storage of a firearm
• Careless storage of a prohibited device
• Trafficking in Schedule I substance – cocaine
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000

This accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on Thursday, August 7, 2025.

Sylvie LOUBIER, 60 years old of Sioux Lookout, was charged with the following CC and CDSA offences:

• Unauthorized possession of a weapon
• Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
• Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
• Careless storage of a firearm
• Careless storage of a prohibited device
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000

This accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
