Morgan PHILIP – Drunk Driver

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Huron East resident with an Impaired Operation – Over 80 driving offence following a traffic stop on Sunday, September 10th. 

On September 10th, 2023, at approximately 2:20 a.m., police observed a southbound motor vehicle travelling on North Line in Huron East. The officer conducted a traffic stop to check the sobriety of the driver. Police spoke to the driver and determined that they had been consuming alcohol prior to driving. The driver registered a “Fail” on the roadside screening device (ASD) and was subsequently placed under arrest for Operation Over 80 and taken into custody. The driver was transported to the Perth County OPP detachment in Sebringville for further breath tests with an OPP qualified breath technician.

Morgan PHILIP, 36 years of age from Huron East has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days and the involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 16th at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Drunk Driver Arrested At RIDE – WILLITS

(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – This past weekend, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) laid an impaired driving charge and served a three-day driver’s license suspension at R.I.D.E. checkpoints.

  • On September 16, 2023, at 2:00 a.m., members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting RIDE along Bruce County Road 33 in Bruce Township when a vehicle stopped. Officers found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Intoxilizer Technician for breath tests. Brenda WILLITS, 39-years-old from the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on November 29, 2023, to answer to the charge.
  • On September 16, 2023, at 12:35 a.m., members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting RIDE along Bruce County Road 23 in Kincardine Township when a vehicle stopped. Officers found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. A 51-year-old Municipality of Kincardine resident was served a three-day driver’s license suspension following a warn range result at the roadside.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.

Aaron MARSHALL Wanted By Police – Call 911 Immediately If Seen

(Hamilton, ON) – The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a federal offender wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant as a result of his breach of statutory release.

Aaron MARSHALL is described as a male caucasian, 34 years of age, 5’6″ (167 cm), 266 lbs (121 kgs) with black hair and hazel eyes. He usually has facial hair.

He is serving a 5 year and 15 day sentence for Unauthorised Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of a Weapon Contaray to a Prohibition order, Possession of a Schedule I Substance x2 and Possession of a Schedule Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x3.

The offender is known to frequent the Cities of Hamilton, Hanover, Kincardine, Owen Sound and Walkerton ON.

Cheri KLUMPNER – Drunk Driving

(BLUEWATER, ON) – An officer from the Huron Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment has charged a Central Huron resident with an Impaired driving offence following a traffic stop in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check on September 2nd, 2023, on London Road in the Municipality of Bluewater.

On Saturday, September 2nd, at approximately 8:30 a.m. an officer was conducting RIDE checks on London Road in Bluewater when they conducted a check on a northbound motor vehicle. In speaking to the driver, the investigating officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving. The officer obtained a sample of the driver’s breath using a roadside screening device which resulted in a failure. The driver was subsequently arrested for Impaired Operation.

The individual was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton to provide breath tests before a qualified Intoxilyzer Technician. Suitable breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Cheri KLUMPNER, 42 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence found in the Cannabis Control Act (CCA).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 16th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Repeat Offender Arrested Again – Flight From Police, Impaired Driving, etc.

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Bluewater resident with several criminal driving offences following an incident on September 2nd, 2023. 

On Saturday, September 2nd at 4:48 p.m. Huron County OPP officers were patrolling in Zurich, Municipality of Bluewater after a motor vehicle had failed to stop for police. The suspect motor vehicle was located shortly after, parked at a business parking lot. Police located and spoke to the involved driver and placed them under arrest. The investigating officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving and was subsequently arrested for Impaired Operation.

The accused was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton to provide breath tests before a qualified Intoxilyzer Technician. Suitable breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over three times the legal limit.

Jason HARBURN, now 48 years of age from Bluewater has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80,

–      Flight from Police,

–      Driving while Prohibited – (two counts),

–      Failing to Comply with Probation Order.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 16th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Drunk Driver Arrested In Kincardine Following Collision

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On September 2, 2023, at 5:42 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle collision along Princes Street in Kincardine.

Officers responded to the scene with members of Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services and Bruce County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to find the vehicle had collided with a hydro pole before coming to rest.

The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Intoxilizer Technician for breath tests.

Korey JARDIM, 27-years-old, from Peterborough County was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on October 25, 2023, to answer to the charge.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.

Bandits Hit Wingham – Photos Released

(NORTH HURON, ON) – An investigation by the Huron County OPP on September 8th, 2023, involving shoplifting in Wingham has been linked to several other similar thefts in Ontario with the same suspects.

On Friday, September 08, 2023, at approximately 5:00 p.m. police were dispatched to a business address on Josephine Street in Wingham, Township of North Huron for a report of shoplifting that occurred just after 2:00 p.m. the same day. 

During the investigation, it was revealed that two male suspects entered the business separately and proceeded to load baby food, shaving accessories, and other items totaling approximately $2,000 and departed the store without paying. Both suspects were captured on video surveillance. They are described as follows:

Suspect #1: Male, age in 40’s, bald, dark skin, wearing a t-shirt and jeans,

Suspect #2: Male, age in 40’s, heavier set build, wearing a hat and face mask, a t-shirt, and jeans.

Suspect vehicle used: older model Mercedes automobile, beige or light grey.

It is believed that these same two suspects have stolen goods from retailers in Barrie, Meaford, Saugeen Shores, Bracebridge, Walkerton, and Wingham.

Numerous Thefts

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – The Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating reports of thefts that occurred over the weekend from East Zorra-Tavistock Township.

The investigations determined that unknown(s) attended the residential construction site around Wettlaufer Street and William Street in Tavistock and surrounding area sometime between Friday September 8, 2023, and Monday September 11, 2023. 

Several pieces of construction equipment and a trailer were removed.

An excavator was removed from Wettlaufer Street.

A Bobcat mini excavator and a Bomag plate tamper were removed from William Street.

A diesel plate packer and a skid steer bucket were removed from Diamond Street.

A John Deere skid steer 323E was removed from an address on Oxford Road 34.

A 20-foot Triumph galvanized trailer was removed from Woodstock Street.

An excavator, the diesel plate packer and the skid steer bucket have since been recovered.

Hana HUSSEIN – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On September 10, 2023, at 11:45 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to Westchester Bourne in Thames Centre, for the report of a disabled vehicle.

Officers arrived on scene to assist at which time it was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol.

An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, Hana HUSSEIN, a 23-year-old of Brampton, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on November 7, 2023.

Derek HERON Arrested For Drunk Driving Following 2 Vehicle Collision

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – On September 8, 2023, at approximately 10:15 p.m., the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Washington Street, Zorra Township.

The investigation determined that a vehicle struck another unoccupied parked vehicle. 

No injuries were reported.

When police spoke with the driver, it became apparent that the driver had consumed alcohol. 

An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered, and the driver was subsequently arrested. The accused was transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, Derek HERON, 27-years-old of Thamesford was charged with the following offences:

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on a later date.
