Lake effect snow ending later today. Hazards: Additional snowfall amounts of 5 to 15 cm, particularly for areas close to Lake Huron. Reduced visibility at times in heavier snow and local blowing snow.
Timing: Ending this afternoon, except this evening for areas close to Lake Huron. Discussion: Lake effect snow off Lake Huron has become disorganized during the night, although areas of blowing snow persist.
Additional lake effect snow bands are expected to shift south through the region later this morning or afternoon. The activity may persist until early evening for areas close to Lake Huron.
Westerly winds gusting up to 60 km/h will result in areas of blowing snow and significantly reduced visibility at times. Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
