Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on April 21, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Fraud over $5,000

  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Laundering proceeds of crime

On Oct. 18, 2025, a Cornwall Police Service officer was dispatched to a Second Street East business in relation to a fraud complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged the woman used deceit and false representations to defraud a City of Cornwall business of money, knowingly obtained funds through fraudulent means, possessed money believed to be the proceeds of crime, and transferred those funds in an effort to conceal or convert them, knowing they were derived from a criminal offence. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for the woman’s arrest. On April 21, 2026, members of the CPS executed a search warrant, and she was located.
