(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.
On Saturday, April 4, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a.m., a traffic stop on Front Street in Trenton led to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.
Shannon MENZIE, age 53, from Trenton was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 21, 2026. Additionally, the vehicle they were operating was impounded for seven days, and their licence suspended for 90 days.
