(CALEDON, ON) – Members from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to investigate a home invasion in Caledon.
On March 17, 2026, at approximately 1:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery at a residence in the area of Mount Hope Road and Old Church Road, in the Town of Caledon. No injuries were sustained to the occupants of the residence and various property was stolen. Four suspects were observed fleeing the area in a dark-coloured sports utility vehicle (SUV).
In the time since the incident, investigators from the Caledon Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of investigators from Peel Regional Police Service and Toronto Police Service, have arrested and charged two suspects and recovered stolen property.
As a result of the investigation, two individuals have been arrested and charged, both of which remain in custody.
Kevin PAREDES, 19, of Ottawa, was charged with:
- Theft under $5000
- Disguise with intent
- Fail to comply with Probation Order
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Break and enter a place and steal a firearm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Break and enter into dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
- Robbery with a weapon – two counts
- Forcible confinement – two counts
- Assault with a weapon – two counts
Noah SCHARF-OMORRI, 20, of Ottawa, was charged with:
- Theft under $5000
- Disguise with intent
- Break and enter a place and steal a firearm
- Break and enter into dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
- Forcible confinement – two counts
- Assault with a weapon – two counts
- Robbery with a weapon – two counts
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – two counts
Investigators recovered some of the personal items which were stolen from the victims, including a firearm. In addition, with the use of the Town of Caledon’s Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, investigators were able to identify the suspect vehicle utilized in the incident, which was later seized as a result.
A third suspect has been identified and the investigation remains ongoing.
