(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation following a traffic stop while on general patrol.
On Wednesday April 01, 2026 at approximately 11:12 pm, officers were on general patrol on Highway 7 in Ops Township. A traffic stop was conducted on a motor vehicle and the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving related offences under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
Owen Nodell-Patterson, 20-year-old of Sunderland was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
- Novice Drive BAC Above Zero
- Young Driver BAC Above Zero
- Fail to Surrender Insurance Card
- Red Light – Fail to Stop
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
