(PETAWAWA, ON) – Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid multiple charges against a Petawawa resident after conducting a traffic stop.
On the evening of Friday, March 20, 2026, police stopped a vehicle in Petawawa and conducted a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) on the driver after observing signs of impairment.
As a result, 50-year-old Paul CHRISTINK of Petawawa was charged with the following Criminal Code (CC), Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA), and Highway Traffic Act (HTA) offences:
• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drug
• Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine
• Operate unsafe vehicle
• No muffler – motor vehicle
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. They were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on Tuesday, May 4, 2026.
