(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged one person with impaired driving and drug related offences after a traffic stop.
On Tuesday March 24, 2026, at approximately 8:45 a.m., members from the North Bay Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) Team of the OPP, conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Coursol Road, West Nipissing.
Police noted two occupants in the vehicle, the driver who had a suspended licence and a passenger under the age of 12. The driver was arrested for impaired operation then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.
A search of the vehicle located drugs suspected to be Cocaine and methamphetamine
Kristy STEVENSON, 37 years-of-age, from North Bay was charged with,
- Operation while impaired – drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance- two counts
- Abandoning child
- Driving while under suspension
- Operate unsafe vehicle
- Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 7, 2026, in North Bay.
The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
