(ELK LAKE, ON)– The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following an arrest in Elk Lake.
On Monday, March 23, 2026, at approximately 4:00 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance at a business in Elk Lake. As a result of the investigation, one individual was taken into custody. While in custody, the individual required medical assistance and was transported by ambulance to a hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.
