(MARATHON, ON) – Members of the Marathon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged five individuals following a drug trafficking investigation.
On Thursday, February 26, 2026, members of the OPP Marathon Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a search warrant at a residence in Marathon, with assistance from CSCU members from Thunder Bay, Nipigon, Manitouwadge and officers of the Marathon Detachment.
As a result of the investigation, Cory Andrew EXELL, 43 years old of Marathon, has been charged under the Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Marathon at a later date.
Brandin CARRIERE, 39 years old of Schreiber, has been charged under the Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Marathon at a later date.
Tara MILBURN, 39 years old of Terrace Bay, has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Marathon at a later date.
Nickolas RAYNER, 45 years old of Marathon, has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Marathon at a later date.
Jenna KUSHNIERYK, 32 years old of Terrace Bay, has been charged under the Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance
- Failure to comply with a release order other than to attend court
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Marathon at a later date.
The Marathon OPP would like to notify the public that a quantity of stolen property has been recovered, and officers are seeking out the owners.
