(DUTTON DUNWICH, ON) Theft from Highway 401 eastbound and westbound Service Centres in the Municipality of Dutton Dunwich results in charges.
On Thursday, February 26, 2026, at approximately 1:30 p.m. the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of approximately $1000 in stolen property from the westbound Service Centre.
On Thursday, February 26, 2026, at approximately 2:15 p.m. The Elgin County OPP responded to a report of approximately $1500 in stolen property from the eastbound Service Centre.
Lee BAIGENT, 39-years-old of Mount Brydges was charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:
- Theft Under $5000 (two counts)
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (two counts)
The accused was released on an Undertaking and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on Tuesday, June 9, 2026
