Mario PINA MENDOZA Was Arrested

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – One person has been charged following a traffic stop in Leamington.

On March 22, 2026, at approximately 2:27 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a vehicle stop on Wellington Street in the Municipality of Leamington.

Mario PINA MENDOZA, 36-years-old of Wheatley was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act offences:

  • Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code (four counts)
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
  • Fail to have insurance card

A 45-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on June 18, 2026, to answer to the charges.
