(NORTH KAWARTHA TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged an individual with impaired driving after receiving a call for a possible impaired driver.
On Thursday March 18, 2026, shortly after 12:30pm, an officer from the Peterborough County OPP detachment was dispatched to a call for a possible impaired driver in the Apsley area. The caller provided a description of the vehicle and the driver. The vehicle was eventually located at a residence in the township of North Kawartha with the accused located in the drivers seat.
The officer spoke to the driver and after a brief conversation, determined them to be impaired. The driver of the vehicle was arrested and transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment for further testing with results in excess of three times the legal limit.
Tiffany SAYER (age 39) of North Kawartha Twp., ON., was arrested and charged with;
• Operation while impaired
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80+)
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on April 14, 2026.
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.
