(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) – Police have arrested and charged a Chatham-Kent resident following a child sexual exploitation investigation.
On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU) executed a search warrant at a residence in Wallaceburg. Assistance was provided by members of the Elgin County OPP, Chatham-Kent Police Service and the OPP Digital Forensics Unit. Several electronic devices were seized.
As a result of the investigation, Kevin McCORD, 49 years old of Wallaceburg, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
· Luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication, section 172.1(1)(a)
· Luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication, section 172.1(1)(b)
The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
The OPP will continue to identify and pursue individuals who use technology to exploit children.
