(SD&G, ON) – The Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid multiple impaired driving related charges following three separate incidents.
On Sunday, March 1, 2026, shortly before 8:00 a.m., SD&G officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Marionville Road, North Dundas Township.
As a result of the investigation, Ivan‑Dario Garcia Rodriguez, 35 years old, of Etobicoke, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by a qualified driver
On Sunday, March 1, 2026, shortly after 2:00 a.m., officers responded to a single‑vehicle collision on County Road 27 in South Glengarry.
A 17‑year‑old male from Martintown, was charged with:
- Careless driving
- Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
- Fail to report accident
On Thursday, February 26, 2026, shortly before 9:00 p.m., officers responded to a vehicle that had left the roadway and come to rest in a ditch on Highway 417.
Mahder Asrdew Zewdu, 26 years old of Saint‑Maurice, Quebec, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
No injuries were reported as a result of any of these incidents.
All three accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
The OPP reminds motorists that impaired driving results in an automatic 90-day drivers licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
