(LEAMINGTON, ON) – Two Leamington residents have been charged in connection with a drug traffickins investigation led by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Essex County Street Crime Unit (CSCU).
On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at approximately 4:10 p.m., members of the Essex County OPP CSCU, with support from the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a search warrant of a residence in the Municipality of Leamington.
The execution of the warrant led to the seizure of suspected cocaine, and suspected opiod.
As a result, George ELIAS, a 60-year-old of Leamington was charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opiod (other than heroin)
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada
As a result, Katelyn GILLANDERS, a 37-year-old of Leamington was charged with the following offence:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opiod (other than heroin)
Both accused parties were held in custody and are scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.
