(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person has been charged for driving while impaired following a single motor vehicle collision in the Municipality of North Perth.
On February 20, 2026, shortly after 1:30 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a motor vehicle that had left the roadway on Perth Road 164 near Perth Line 88 and was heavily damaged. Perth County OPP, North Perth Fire Department and Perth County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the scene of the collision. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was assessed by EMS and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries where he was later released.
The driver, 33-year-old Ryan Sullivan of Elora, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous Operation
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order (two counts)
The accused was held in custody and released following a show cause hearing, scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on March 9, 2026. The accused is also facing a 90-day drivers licence suspension, 7-day motor vehicle impoundment as well as tow and impound fees.
