(PEMBROKE, ON) – A City of Pembroke resident is facing Criminal Code (CC), Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and Liquor License and Control Act (LLCA) charges after the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two-vehicle collision where one vehicle had left the scene.
On the evening of February 8, 2026, members of the UOV OPP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene. Police later located the vehicle and the driver in a parking lot at the Pembroke Marina. The driver was arrested at the scene and transported to the detachment.
As a result of the incident 33-year-old Krystle CHARTRAND has been charged with the following CC, LLCA and HTA offences:
· Failure or refusal to comply with a demand
· Theft of motor vehicle
· Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor
· Driving while under suspension
· Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was towed. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 3, 2026.
