(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person is in custody following an incident involving a barricaded person at a residence in Listowel.
On February 4, 2026, at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an address on Derry Street East, Listowel.
Police contained the area with the support of the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit and Crisis Negotiators.
There was no threat to public safety, however the OPP asked the public to avoid the area due to the heavy police presence.
A 66-year-old resident of North Perth was placed under arrest and charged with the following Criminal Code offence:
· Uttering Threats – Damage Property
The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
