Kaneesha THOMAS Was Arrested

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing Impaired charge after traffic stop.

On January 24, 2026, at 8:08 a.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division (HSD), while on general patrol in the Municipality of Thames Centre, observed a suspicious vehicle travelling in the westbound lanes of Highway 401.

A traffic stop was initiated at which time the driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.

As a result, kaneesha THOMAS, a 34-year-old of Cambridge, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence Control Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

·      Fail to stop on right for emergency vehicle

·      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on February 19, 2026.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.
