23 Year Old Facing Over 80 Charge

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On Sunday October 14, 2018 at approximately 7:45 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a white pick-up truck stopped on the shoulder of the Fifth Line near Wellington Road 109, with the engine running and had been there an extended period of time.

Police located the vehicle and sleeping male driver and while speaking with him determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device (ASD) test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

23-year-old Riley O’CONNELL of Centre Wellington North Township has been charged with Adult Care or Control Over 80 mgs. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on November 16, 2018 to answer to the charge.
