Junior CHANSAMONE Arrested At RIDE

(WEST PERTH, ON) – A Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) spot check removed another impaired driver from the roads in West Perth.

On February 12 2021, just before 12:00 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. checks on Perth Line 20, and Perth Road 163, when a vehicle entered the program. During the course of the stop, the investigating officer formed the opinion that the driver had consumed alcohol.

A Roadside Approved Screening Device test was conducted, which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and brought to a local police station for further testing, where two samples of breath were provided.

As a result, Junior CHANSAMONE, 35, of South Huron, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

A 90-day driving suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.
