Home Invasion In Mount Forest

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On February 15, 2021, at approximately 7:40 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a 911 call for a domestic dispute in progress at a residence on Egremont Street in Mount Forest.

It was reported that the suspect and female victim were previously in a relationship. The victim called police after the suspect broke into her residence through a window causing property damage. The suspect was also bound by a court order with a condition not to have contact with the victim.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Southgate Township resident has been charged with Break and Enter, Fail to Comply with Release Order, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear at a later date at the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph to answer to the charges.
