62 Year Old From Gorrie Arrested For Drunk Driving

(HOWICK, ON) – Whether it be a pickup truck, an automobile, motorcycle, vessel, airplane, snowmobile or in this case an all-terrain vehicle (ATV), Impaired Operation charges will apply if you’re caught driving over the legal limit.

On Saturday, April 10, 2021 at approximately 9:36 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checks in Gorrie when an ATV entered into their checkpoint.

Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol and was displaying signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. The accused later provided two samples of his breath to the qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples were found to be above the legal limit.

William KROTZ, 62 years of age, from Gorrie has been charged with Impaired Operation and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 31, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
