22 Year Old Charged By DRE

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A Goderich resident is facing an Impaired Operation charge following a traffic complaint that was investigated by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) last week.

On March 11, 2021 at approximately 10:16 p.m. Huron County OPP received a complaint about a sedan that was travelling in an erratic manner from Benmiller onto Base Line. Shortly thereafter, an OPP officer spotted the suspect vehicle travelling southbound on Base Line. A traffic stop was conducted and while speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver was displaying signs of impairment by way of a drug.

The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for impaired operation and was transported to Stratford where a drug recognition evaluation was conducted. Upon completion of the evaluation the Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) determined the driver was impaired by a drug.

Brittany HANSEN, 22 years of age, from Goderich has been charged with Impaired Operation. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 12, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

This was the stupid charge I seen yet. To be honest it was ride from wingham, ON to Clinton, ON and no where near Benmiller and really was unprofessional arrest, no offence to Bridget Jeffary female officer that works for Huron County OPP, a unknown caller called and lied about the driver driving and really was just a noisy person that obviously had nothing better to do then to stalk on people when we passed threw Alburn doing the speed limit and driving perfectly fine and have one more witness to prove this and also a dash cam, Anyway pulled her over (I assumed by her additude it was her time of the month or something) and summed to smell alcohol in the vehicle but really seen her pour hand sanitizer in her hands and she then told her get out of the vehicle then was hand cuff and tooken uncomfortably to Stratford to do tests which then she was told by Officer Jeffary needed 2 Viles of blood tooken out of her. To be honest 1 marked Cop Car And 3 marked SUVs and 1 Investigator SUV really wasted there time and I thought to myself If they really needed that many to stand around when there way more important things to be doing.

So…your fine with people driving around impaired? Weather its by alcohol or drugs, its still illegal, its how innocent people get killed.Dont really matter where it happened, it happened, and now she has to put on her big girl pants and deal with it.

Drugs were found in her system via blood tests so she obviously was impaired driving. Had she hit someone with her vehicle that would be ok with you?
