37 Drug Overdoses Last Week In K/W

Waterloo Regional Police are issuing a warning after responding to a suspected fatal overdose involving purple fentanyl in the area of King Street North in Waterloo, on February 1, 2021.

Between January 24, 2021, and January 31, 2021, Waterloo Regional Police have responded to 37 suspected drug overdose calls throughout the region. We want to remind the public that street drugs are unpredictable.

Drug users are reminded to use the Consumption and Treatment Services site located at 150 Duke Street West, Kitchener, or to use with a partner. If you suspect that someone is overdosing, call 911, administer Naloxone, and stay with the person until help arrives. Please note, multiple doses of Naloxone may be required. You have the power to save someone’s life. #BeAGoodSamaritan
