13 Year Old Facing Extortion & Child Pornography Charges

In December 2020, the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Cybercrime – Internet Child Exploitation Unit, commenced an investigation involving child pornography. On January 8, 2021, as a result of the ongoing investigation, police arrested a 13-year-old Cambridge male, charging him with Extortion, Luring a Child Under 16 Years, Distribute Child Pornography, and Distribute Intimate Image Without Consent. The Waterloo Regional Police Service is a member of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet. This project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
